In line with the school’s core values, which aim to nurture students’ abilities in academic and extracurricular activities, the institution also seeks to develop students’ skills in journalism. This year, the school was very excited to join its first press conference since the launch of the school publication last year.
On January 17, 2025, the District of Liloan hosted a District Seminar-Workshop on Campus Journalism at Arcelo Memorial National High School. Campus journalists from public and private schools across Liloan gathered to participate and compete in various individual and group events. This event showcased the diverse skills of journalism learners, highlighting their talents in writing, editorial cartooning, radio broadcasting, copyreading, layouts, and photojournalism.
Despite the short preparation time, we are very proud of our students for their participation and performance in the seminar-workshop. We would like to extend our congratulations to Aizelle Jana Salazar for achieving 7th place in Filipino News Writing (Secondary) and Carlos Daren Flores for securing 5th place in English Editorial Cartooning (Secondary).
This is just the beginning of our school’s campus journalism journey, and we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for our student journalists. We hope to see more students excel in this field and encourage all learners to explore the world of journalism.
