The long-awaited Family Day had finally arrived! The school celebrated its 14th Founderβs and Family Day on February 9, 2025, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime. The event began with a meaningful mass featuring an inspiring homily. After the mass, everyone enjoyed a short health break, where they could grab snacks from a variety of stores, including Thirsty, Bastea, Korean food stalls, and pizza stands. The excitement continued with a heartfelt doxology performance by our talented dance troupe members. To kick off the fun, students and their parents participated in exciting games like the flour-passing challenge using cards and the lemon relay. Just as the energy was building, it was time for the much-anticipated FASDS Family Got Talentβa showcase where families wowed the audience with their talents in singing, playing instruments, and even hula hoop performances! It was truly a heartwarming sight to see parents and children performing together. But the entertainment didnβt stop there! The dance sports team captivated everyone with their impressive Modern Standard and Latin American dance performances. Afterward, families gathered to enjoy a delicious lunch, recharging for the rest of the festivities. And the fun was far from over! Later in the day, students took the stage to present their vibrant festival dance performances, making the celebration even more unforgettable.
In the afternoon, it was time for the parent’s game of Bingo to commence. Each family was given one piece of Bingo card to play while the students went inside their quarters to prepare for their anticipated festival performance that would happen later on. The host explained the rules of the game, and everyone finally started playing it. It took more than an hour for the game to finish. At long last, the entrance of the DLC members grabbed everyoneβs attention with the sound of their instruments that gave such an impact, along with the majoretteβs energetic dance of twirling their baton. This was the opening for our most awaited field demonstration from all learners on different campuses, showing their hard work and dedication from the practices they have been through. After that, the PTA main campus members prepared a dance presentation, also showing gracefulness.
Finally, we are now revealing those eye-catching costumes, enhancing their performance with colorful props and backdrops, and also the festival queens that will greet us with their beauty and elegance. A festive event for the family and teachers, looking forward to what the students have prepared for them to see. The performance started with the adorable learners from Nursery 1, Nursery 2, and Kindergarten. Coming up next, the District Meet Dance Sports Representatives from the elementary level gave it all they got and impressed the audience with their smooth, sharp, and fluid movements. Followed by the Grade 1, 2, and 3 learners, who gave a wonderful performance with their colorful costumes, smiling at the audience. The other campuses in Catarman and Carmen also prepared a dance for this event, showcasing their synchronization, symbolic movements, and gracefulness. Filled with excitement, the Grade 4, 5, and 6 learners made an appearance that amazed the audiences with the different cultures and traditions in each festival performance.
Lastly, it was finally the time for the competitive high school learners to shine. Merged were Grade 7 and Grade 11 St. Augustine, representing the Kumbira Festival in Compostela, emphasized the foods they used for props as Kumbira means βfeast.β On the other hand, the electrifying circus theme from Grade 8 St. Francis and Grade 11 St. Lorenzo Ruiz represented the Sarok Festival in Consolacion, highlighting the hat made from bamboo strips and dried banana leaves. Next up, the vibrant and daring learners of Grade 9 and Grade 12 proudly represent the Karansa Festival in Danao City, which features the pots as a celebration. With their dazzling and flowy costumes, the Grade 10 learners performed lively and energetically at the Dagitab Festival in Naga, known as the βFestival of Lights.β The beautiful dresses and movements of the festival princesses and festival queens came into a showdown. Captivating the audiences with their presence and eye-catching beauty. Afterward, all of the students came together and did the unity dance, the last dance of the day. The event ended with the awarding of the winners of the festival princesses, festival queens, and field demonstration.
Just as the theme says, βCelebrating Together: A Festival of Unity and Love.β Everyone gathered to celebrate the 14th Founding Anniversary and Family Day. This is a time for the families to bond and to celebrate another year of the schoolβs growth and achievements. Rising the thrill and excitement for the different cultures and dances the students had prepared for this very event. They did not fail to impress everyone with how vibrant, enthusiastic, and full of power their performances were, displaying appreciation for our traditions and being united as one.
